Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

Commissioned by FairFax Media and the Brisbane Times, I provided editorial content for the athlete’s village magazine – ‘The Village Source’.

As there were no traditional newspapers or media allowed into the Commonwealth Games village, for fear of negative press and impacting athletes’ concentration. The Village Source provided light-hearted news stories from around the village, the games and City itself.

Featuring stories such as ‘Athletes Ink’ – a piece on tattoo’s that the various competitors sported. ‘What’s on in the village’ – a guide to the events and activities taking place (such as meeting Koala’s, Ping Pong and Pool sessions and free ice cream). As well as features on the Opening Ceremony, teams, and medal winners.
